Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is used to add contour and enhance your best features.

Dermal fillers are a popular cosmetic treatment designed to address signs of aging and enhance facial contours for patients seeking a non-surgical approach. Our providers take immense pride in taking a natural and artistic approach to injecting dermal fillers, ensuring that patients still look and feel like themselves, just more refreshed.

Comprised of various biocompatible substances such as hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, or poly-L-lactic acid, these fillers are injected beneath the skin's surface to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and rejuvenate the overall appearance.

Our practice specializes in full-facial balancing, which is a technique that addresses the individual’s face as a whole and appreciates your unique features by creating a natural and balanced result. Our providers take pride in ensuring that our patients look like themselves, but refreshed and youthful.

Dermal Fillers

Our dermal fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid (HA) to ensure safety and desired outcomes. HA is naturally found in the body, with the majority of HA stored in the skin. HA is responsible for adding hydration and youthful plumpness to the skin. As we age, we lose HA dramatically leading to hollowness and wrinkles in the skin. Using HA dermal fillers brings the youthful volume back to the face in a very natural way. Dermal fillers can also be used as a contour tool to enhance and highlight beautiful features of the face.

We are an award-winning med spa with top-tier providers and we take pride in being nationally recognized for our filler technique and results. Filler provides an effective, non-surgical solution to help individuals achieve a more youthful and refreshed aesthetic, tailored to their facial features and desired outcomes. This can be a relatively quick procedure with minimal downtime. Please read on to learn more about our specific filler offerings.

Filler Pre & Post Care

Pre-treatment Instructions

If you are anxious or worried about your procedure, feel free to talk to the healthcare practitioner who will perform your procedure. Our practitioners are highly experienced and may have suggestions that will help.

Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, St. John's Wort, oral Vitamin E, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) in the 24 hours prior to your treatment as they may promote the risk of bruising and bleeding in the injection area.

Do not stop a prescribed blood thinner unless approved by your doctor. Please inform your injector if you are currently taking any prescribed blood thinners (Warfarin, Coumadin, Heparin, Lovenox, Enoxaparin, Lepirudin, Refludan, Ticlopidine Ticlid, Clopidogrel, Plavix, Tirofiban, Aggrastat, Eptifibatide, Integrilin). You may or may not be a candidate for treatment with cosmetic dermal fillers.

If you are prone to cold sores (oral herpes simplex), it is recommended that you take your prescribed medication (Famvir, Famciclovir, Valtrex, Valacyclovir, Acyclovir) as prescribed in the 24 hours prior to your treatment to avoid stimulating the virus.

Although bruising is expected with this treatment, we do our best to avoid it as much as possible. Starting Arnica tablets 3 days prior to your appointment can help reduce the risk of bruising.

Please arrive to your appointment with a clean face and remove all makeup. This is important for avoiding infection or other complications.

Post-treatment Instructions

Avoid applying pressure or touching the treated area for 6 hours after the procedure. The area can then be gently washed with a cleanser and water.

Avoid vigorous scrubs, exfoliation or facial treatment in the area of treatment for 72 hours.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or UV/tanning beds for 72 hours after the procedure.

Avoid makeup to the area for 48 hours.

For pain/discomfort, use cool packs and over-the-counter pain medications (Acetaminophen, Tylenol).

Oral or topical Arnica, an herbal supplement, may help with reducing swelling caused by cosmetic treatments. DO NOT take Arnica Montana if you have liver or kidney problems.

Avoid aspirin, Advil, St. John’s Wort, vitamin E, and NSAIDs after injection to reduce the risk of bruising.

Bruising and swelling are normal after injection. It may even be worse the day after. However, if you experience signs and symptoms of infection (warmth at the site of injection, discharge/pus, pain/discomfort) or if you develop a fever, please contact our office so our staff may assist you.

Please call our office immediately if you experience worsening pain at the injection site or color changes to your skin like a dark bruise or lacey red pattern (especially if associated with pain).
